I earned my bachelor's degree in Music Performance from the University of North Texas, and went on to study for my master's degree at the University of Massachusetts in Amherst. Professionally, I am a composer and a pianist. I also tutor students, and have since my college years. I have developed a style of tutoring that encourages learning through experience, and forming a good bond with my students, so we can communicate comfortably. My students feel free to ask me questions, and I encourage them to explore different ways of thinking about things. I enjoy the challenge of creating approaches to learning that match each student's personality and needs. I also share with them my excellent study and organizational skills. I believe creative thinking has a place in every subject, including math. I am available to tutor in a wide variety of subjects, including language arts, music, Spanish, social studies, and much more. I also have experience successfully tutoring students as they prepare for standardized tests, such as the SAT, GRE, and others. Outside of music and tutoring, I love going for walks with my dog, and getting out to listen to live music in the area where I live.
